NCPA's Power Of The Purse Success!

Newburgh, NY – April 9, 2025 – It was an evening filled with love, laughter and great times! On Tuesday, April 8th, NCPA once again held their annual Power of the Purse fundraiser to benefit the school’s operations. Over one hundred guests filled the Silk Factory in Newburgh to celebrate the school and help support it.

Held right on the heels of Women’s History Month, The Power of the Purse is an annual fundraiser that symbolically shows how powerful the ‘purse’ can be in helping support a mission. At the event guests heard powerful words from NCPA’s Board President, Jonnie Wesley-Krueger as well as former students and other special guest. In addition to the speakers, guest bid on beautiful purses, handbags, wallets, as well as other items donated from local businesses and organizations.

By the end of the night, NCPA had raised thousands of dollars to help fund the school’s operations. Not only was the night a success from an monetary perspective but more importantly, it raised critical awareness for the school and it’s mission to leverage education as a pathway of of poverty for young women in the Hudson Valley.

At NCPA, all students meet the federal standards for free or reduced lunch programs. While the cost of education is substantial (over $10,000 per student), students are charged no tuition to attend NCPA. To help offset costs, parents are asked to partner with the school and help with small repairs and maintenance.

Nora Cronin Presentation Academy receives no federal, state or local public funding nor does the Archdiocese of New York or any individual parish provide any funding. NCPA is funded entirely through grants and private donations. NCPA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

NCPA would like to thank everyone that attend the event as well as all of those volunteers and committee members that help plan and put on the event. It is support from all of you that make NCPA possible. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts!
